10 Project Manager •AIPM NEWS CHAPTERS Congratulations to ACT member Brendan Bilston, who was awarded the AIPM 2013 National Project Director of the Year. is is a great achievement and we look for ward to hearing from him in a 2014 for um. In our Forum Consultative session in June, we identi ed the pro le of AIPM and RegPM in Canberra as an issue to address. e suggestion came that we should raise our pro le with other professional groups. As a result, the ACT Chapter has sponsored a CPA Congress keynote address. Our message was 'Is your PM certi ed?'. We are hoping that some CFOs will ask this question when they return to their departments. I am also pleased to report that Airservices Australia has included RegPM certi cation in a recent ad. is is the rst of our corporate members who has explicitly asked for RegPM certi cation in 2013. Your Council welcomes any invitations to address your project management user groups to raise the AIPM pro le and encourage usage of RegPM as a selection criteria. We are also planning a YEPP event for Brisbane. The Queensland State Chapter Council is keen to conduct regional events in western Queensland in 2014. Our first event is being planned for Emerald, with other sites also being considered. The decision to conduct the 2014 National Conference in Brisbane has been warmly welcomed by all Queensland members. The Organising Committee is also excited about a separate YEPP event which is being planned for the Sunday before the conference starts, 12 October. If you think you could assist us in any capacity in organising an event or the 2014 National Conference please do not hesitate to contact State Coordinator Lorelei Broadbent. Over the past six months we have had infor mative and professional talks on a range of subjects including risk management, improving return on investment, building resilience, the Perth AIPM National Conference and an update on the Darwin INPEX Ichthys project. Our events are opportunities to improve practices, develop professionally, interact and network. We have drawn on the contacts and networks of the NT Chapter Council, but believe member input is important so we can build on our success. We also realise that NT is so much more than Dar win and Palmerston, and are conscious of the growth in our membership in regional and remote areas. To accommodate those unable to attend events we will be looking to trial access via the inter net. Your input to this process is critical for us to build on our momentum. If you have any subject areas of interest or suggestions for quali ed and experienced speakers, please contact our Chapter Council Coordinator. » For more information about events in all states, visit the Events section of the AIPM website: www.aipm.com.au David Bryant ACT Chapter President Chris Mansfield NSW Chapter President Mark Patch QLD Chapter President Brett Walker NT Chapter President NOTICEBOARD » REFER TO AIPM WEBSITE WWW.AIPM.COM.AU
