34 Project Manager CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL Development (CPD) is the process by which RegPM members maintain the quality and relevance of their skills throughout their working life. As part of AIPM's ongoing improvement a review of our CPD Program is underway. The review will ensure the benefits of our CPD Program are in line with international standards and will allow AIPM to offer increased avenues to support your professional development. The revised program will build on the principles at the core of the existing program, which drive the ongoing development of a project manager's skill base. AIPM is committed to keeping individuals and organisations abreast of industry best practice and meeting the changing demands of the project management community. ••• THE KEY PRINCIPLES OF THE CPD PROGRAM • Professional development is a continuous process that applies after the initial RegPM certification. • Individuals are responsible for planning, managing and recording their own CPD points. • CPD points can be taken from any category. • CPD comprises a balanced mix of activities that include work based activities, presentations, courses, seminars and conferences. • All CPD points should be planned and recorded in MyAIPM. • Auditing of your activities is conducted when your application form for recertification is received by National Office or on request. • Only CPD points undertaken within the 3 year certification period can be counted towards recertification. • Please note you can only recertify at your current RegPM level. If you chose to upgrade to the next level of certification (i.e. CPPP to CPPM or CPPM to CPPD, CPPE) by undergoing a full assessment through a registered assessor, then this is classified as a new certification. • If you do not log the remaining points required in the specified time period, you will have to go through the re-certification process again. This can take up to three months, will incur additional charges and result in a loss of the many benefits associated with our RegPM Program. Any accumulated CPD points within the previous certification period will be lost and you will have to undertake a full assessment again. LOGGING CPD POINTS For assistance uploading your CPD points contact AIPM Certification Coordinator Ivana Lozancic.
