PROJECT MANAGEMENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2013 • www.aipm.com.au Project Manager 19 NSW: QANTAS DOMESTIC NETWORK & VOICE (DNV) Telstra Corporation Ltd & Qantas Airways Ltd Qantas' Domestic Network & Voice (DNV) Program was a two-year infor mation and communications technology (ICT) program that included 37 projects and engaged more than 100 virtual staff and seven other Qantas ser vice partners. e transition program delivered a new IT infrastr ucture, library-aligned service management framework and an integrated service management toolset. e transformation program responsible for the delivery of 24 new ICT ser vices and an upgrade of the Qantas domestic data and voice network is part of an eight-year service delivery agreement between Telstra and Qantas. ••• SA: THE ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER HEALTH WORKER PROJECT Health Workforce Australia is SA project, initiated in May 2010, aimed to strengthen and sustain the health workforce to provide care in response to the known burden and distribution of disease in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. A highly consultative approach was undertaken with multiple and diverse stakeholders in urban, regional and remote areas to build a national picture of the health workforce, including location, role, skills, qualifications and interprofessional relationships. e project's final report from May 2012 makes clear recommendations across multiple and complex policy areas including the healthcare profession, workforce planning, education, supporting the workforce and building interdisciplinary relationships. QLD: QUEENSLAND POLICE SERVICE RENEWAL PROGRAM P2E To better deliver against the next generation of Queensland community ser vice demands, the Queensland Police Ser vice (QPS) refor med its organisational leadership, structure, governance and delivery capability without negatively impacting frontline services. P2E was engaged to plan and deliver the Renewal Program. e program necessarily engaged a significant and diverse stakeholder base and directly impacted every QPS employee and operating partner. e Renewal Program represents the most significant change the QPS has undertaken since the post-1990s Fitzgerald Inquiry and is the first step in ongoing reforms to enhance frontline ser vice delivery, better support the community and increase police numbers. NT: SINGLE LIVING ENVIRONMENT AND ACCOMMODATION PRECINCT PHASE 2 (SINGLE LEAP 2) -- LARRAKEYAH BARRACKS Sitzler A $72 million project to design and construct 20 accommodation buildings and associated str uctures at the Lar rakeyah Barracks in NT brought Defence accommodation in line with community standards, which is a critical part of attracting and retaining personnel. Being constrained within a private--public partnership framework, the project had a large number of exter nal stakeholders with varying amounts of ow nership and influence throughout design, constr uction and operation. Clear and pragmatic communication, reliant on strict and agreed protocol, saw the project successfully delivered eight weeks ahead of schedule and to a high quality standard.
