34 Project Manager As part of AIPM's ongoing commitment to improve the professionalism of project professionals, to keep organisations abreast of industry best practice and to enhance the professional standing of project management, the CPD Program has been reviewed. What's changing? Important updates have been made to the CPD Points Table in order to simplify the process and the logging of points. ese changes will be e ective from 1 November 2013. From 1 November, all points recorded must be made via the new Points Table. is includes points that were attained prior to 1 November, but not logged until after the cut-over date. Why is it changing? e new table has been developed to provide a more robust platfor m and cater for the changing demands of the professional community. e changes will provide a more accountable and transparent process for RegPM's. The new points table have been instigated in order to simplify the process. The methods you can use to log points have also been e xtended. You will soon be able to log points for inter nal training along with current methods under the new table such as; • Development - Events and Conferences: National Conference (up to 20 points), Chapter Events (1 point per hour) • Knowledge - Qualification : Diploma in PM (up to 80 CPD points), Certification AIPM/IPMA Certification (up to 20 points), Courses, Advanced Professional Practice Workshops (up to 10 points), Study: Reviewing Jour nal Articles (2 points each article) • Contribution - Support: Mentor Program (up to 45 points), Research: Research PM topics (up to 35 points) To view the updated CPD Points table go to w w w.aipm.com.au (MyAipm>Record CPD Points>Effective 1 Nov 2013). If you are looking to re-certify before the 1st November 2013, you will still use the current CPD Table. If you are due to re-certify after this date, you must log CPD Points based on the new CPD Table.
