In early July 2012, AIPM canvassed opinions through the AIPM LinkedIn Group for an informal view of where the membership saw the principle education demand. Initially, support was given for programs in the advanced practitioner area. More than 75 per cent of respondents indicated that if AIPM o ered advanced professional development workshops, they would consider taking part. AIPM's market analysis continues to indicate that a signi cant majority of project management training and education is focused on formal quali cations and short vocational- level introductory project management courses. In order to deliver high-level professional practice workshops, AIPM required the use of respected subject matter, practice experts and highly quali ed, experienced training and assessment professionals. An Expression of Interest (EOI) for facilitators was featured in the February edition of the AIPM enewsletter PM Matters. An EOI to the broader market detailed the requirements for the development and delivery of the APPW. e content and program delivery quality will be overseen by a Steering Committee under the delegation of and reporting to the Professional Development Council (PDC) and Chair Lee Simonelli. e PDC will report to the AIPM Board, which has overall policy and strategic oversight of this program. AIPM will be delivering a series of two-day workshops across Australia. ese workshops will initially be focused on: • risk management • procurement • governance • leadership These programs are designed to enhance your professional development and can help improve the skills and capabilities within your organisation. e APPW will be piloted in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. • •• 75 PER CENT OF RESPONDENTS INDICATED THAT IF AIPM OFFERED ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS, THEY WOULD CONSIDER TAKING PART
