Project Manager : Project Manager Oct Nov 2012
16 Project Manager " I'm always amazed at the diversity of submissions for the PMAAs. I o er my congratulations to NSW Public Works for multiple entries and multiple category awards. Congratulations also to individual award winners Project Manager Tony McCabe and Team Member Mark Cafe. e elections are over and NSW has a new Chapter President. We have a great mix of new and returning councillors in the NSW Chapter Council, which bodes well for the continuation of the work done previously by councillors over the past two or more years. Regional event committees in the Hunter and Illawarra are building momentum, with continuing Regional Coordinator (Ricci Piper from Arup) supporting their work. Cathy Wagner and Gary Kennedy are working hard in the Illawarra, and Dean Overend is organising the Hunter events committee. ank you all for your work. " We recently conducted the State Conference and PMA A gala dinners, with their great selection of entries. I commend all entrants for being involved. It is important to re ect on our good projects, and the PMAA is a great way of highlighting the excellent work. Now is the time to plant the seed and start to think about projects eligible for next year's PMA A submissions. If you are in Melbourne for the AIPM National Conference and AGM, you know that this is my last report as AIPM Queensland Chapter President. After considerable thought, I was not able to nominate this year and have handed over the reins to my successor. I have had a great time being involved in the Queensland AIPM Committee and will look back especially fondly on my time as Chapter President. I would like to thank the members of the Queensland Committee who worked hard over the past term. I look for ward to seeing you all at future AIPM events and sharing a chat and a drink. " It is my great pleasure to welcome in Dave Bryant as ACT Chapter President. Even the greatest project manager can struggle if they are not surrounded by the right people. We must therefore ensure we look after people to provide increased likelihood of project success. By far the best way to ensure your people feel valued is through reward and recognition. Every position within the team is required to meet the end objectives, other wise the position would not exist. e new NT Chapter President Brett Walker brings with him a wealth of experience that will aid the chapter to continue to grow and support the professional PM community. I have enjoyed my two years as Chapter President and, most of all, I have enjoyed the people I have met along the way. ❰ACT❱ ❰NSW❱ Boyd McCarron ACT Chapter President Paul Campbell NSW Chapter President ❰NT❱ Paul Clark NT Chapter President ❰QLD❱ Peter Fowler QLD Chapter President NOTICEBOARD » 26 NOV PMO SIG MEETING •AIPM NEWS CHAPTERS
