Members are encouraged to start working on their entries. AIPM is currently accepting PMAA Expressions of Interest online. Happy New Year. Now 2012 is behind us, we should reflect how we can better ourselves in the New Year, particularly professionally. It is time to wonder, “How can I be more efficient, accurate, timely or knowledgeable?”. The hardest part of the New Year goal is putting it into practice. Consider sharing your goal with friends, family, peers or colleagues. They may help you fulfil your journey, or even remind you of your endeavour when life becomes busy and you revert to your old ways. Remember, you can always improve. Involvement in the NT Chapter could be an avenue for you to consider for your professional development in 2012. You might attend the numerous networking and continuing professional development events to sharpen your communication or other project management skills – or you could present at one of these events. Other options include submitting an entry into the Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA) or even become a councillor and assist in the growth of project management in the Territory. Feel free to ask me how I might help. I look forward to another fast-paced, project-packed and successful year with you all. We have welcomed in 2012 and it is full steam ahead for the QLD Chapter. Late last year the Chapter Council set the dates for CPD events in Brisbane for this year. Council member Adrian Earl is busy firming up speakers so if you have suggestions or want to offer your services, please contact Adrian at email@example.com. Regional events will also be held on the Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns as demand is established. The Young Project Professionals (YPP) and Women in Project Management (WIPM) events are also being planned for 2012. Watch out for the monthly Chapter e-newsletter, which will include a round-up of coming events. This will reduce the number of individual emails sent to AIPM members. The 2012 Project Management Achievement Award (PMAA) submission guidelines were released this month. All members should be looking at their project management achievements and submitting one or more entries into the awards – or encouraging a colleague to do so. There are 12 project categories and three categories for individuals. PMAA is a great opportunity to highlight achievement and receive the recognition that your projects and organisations deserve – do not hold back! ❰ Northern Territory ❱ ❰ Queensland ❱ CHAPTERS • Paul Clark NT Chapter President Peter Fowler QLD Chapter President CONTACT HEATHER-ANNE CLARK NT Chapter Coordinator 0407 721 619 firstname.lastname@example.org Visit the AIPM website for more information on events NOTICEBOARD 21 FEBRUARY THE PLANNING NAUGHTY CORNER 27 FEBRUARY PRINCE2 AND PMBOK – IS THERE A METHOD IN THE MADNESS 8 MARCH WIPM: CONNECTING GIRLS, INSPIRING FUTURES DON’T MISS Our next event is ‘PMAA 2012: How to write a winning submission’.
