We have: • grown the membership base by 20 per cent; • held many seminars with a range of interesting speakers; • addressed the needs of our members in the north and north- west of the State by holding two lunchtime seminars in the area; • held events to celebrate Women In Project Management and International Project Management Day, and two events which focused on the Tasmanian Government’s project management community of practice; • hosted the TAS Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA), with two of our category winners winning a High Commendation at the national PMAA event; and • discussed the benefits of AIPM membership with a range of organisations and Diploma of Project Management students. At a national level, Tasmania was well represented at the 25th IPMA World Congress, providing an outstanding opportunity to network and learn from peers and academics. The Chapter Council will continue to deliver an excellent program to support our local members in 2012. It was great to see South Australia win three national category awards at the AIPM Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA). This year's awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the 25th IPMA World Congress in Brisbane. It was also great to see a number of AIPM members from SA in attendence. I would like to thank our 2011 Chapter event sponsors. Planning is already underway for many events in the 2012 calendar. We will be in touch soon with more details. You can also check the AIPM website for updates. SA members are encouraged to start thinking about getting their entries in for next year ’s PMAA event. Let’s make 2012 another great year for our State. The SA Chapter also held three forums in October and November. One featured international thought leader Les Squires who presented on how social media can build an effective network in projects. The others were special interest groups: Emerging Project Professionals and PMO. As the year comes to a close and the SA Chapter starts looking at opportunities for 2012, I would like to thank SA members for their continued support and I look forward to welcoming new members to our Chapter. «I WouLD LIKe to thanK sa MeMbers For theIr ContInueD suPPort anD I LooK ForWarD to WeLCoMIng neW MeMbers» • ChAPters ContaCt micheLLe PearsOn SA Chapter Coordinator 08 8332 9411 firstname.lastname@example.org Visit the AIPM website for more information on events ❰ Tasmania ❱ ❰ South Australia ❱ sami Abou- hamdan SA Chapter President Maria skillern TAS Chapter President
